LUISS University invites outstanding scholars to apply for Visiting Professorships in the Departments of:

- Economics and Finance
- Law
- Political Science
The purpose of the Visiting Professorship Program (ViPP) is to raise the University’s international profile through the development of teaching and research co-operation between LUISS and the faculties of partner universities and research centers.
LUISS welcomes applications for two types of visiting positions:
Visiting Professors
Visiting professors carry out teaching and research activities (as well as develop academic cooperation) and spend between 30 and 90 days at LUISS.
The contribution for visiting professors, subject to current tax legislation, ranges from €3,000.00 to €5,000.00 per month, depending on seniority and length of stay.
Visiting Fellows
Visiting fellows carry out research activities (as well as develop academic cooperation) and spend between 1 and 2 weeks at LUISS.
The contribution for visiting fellows, subject to current tax legislation, ranges from €1,000.00 to €2,000.00, depending on seniority and length of stay.
Both professors and fellows can stay longer and LUISS can provide office facilities. Any additional costs will be covered by the visitors.
Applicants must indicate in their application the preferred visiting period within the 2019-2020 academic year.
During their visiting period, scholars have also the opportunity to spend time at Centro Studi Confindustria to get involved in research projects on the Italian economy.
Selection
The available positions are assigned through a competitive selection procedure, carried out by a Selection Committee of LUISS Professors. A number of slots are reserved for junior candidates (less than 8 years from completion of a Ph.D.) Preferential treatment is given to candidates who have never held a visiting position at LUISS and to candidates who can provide external funding.
Visiting Periods: 2019-2020 academic year
- Fall: September 2019 – December 2019
- Spring: February 2020 – May 2020
