Studying for an LLM at Glasgow equips students with the knowledge and skills needed in an ever-increasing competitive legal market.
It offers a solid preparation to work in environments such as international courts, the European Commission, international law firms, governments, the banking and finance sector, and academic institutions around the world.
The program is a tuition-paying program - in addition to tuition fees at Luiss University.
Annual tuition fees for Sept 2020 correspond to £8,850.
The University of Glasgow offers a scholarship discount:
- 10% reduction in the annual tuition fee for all Luiss selected students
- one competitive scholarship of 25% fee discount to the applicant with the highest academic performance
Please note that tuition does not include living expenses.

Who can apply
Students enrolled in the fourth year of the single-cycle Master’s degree in Law can apply to this program. According to their majors, students can apply for:
- an LL.M. in Corporate & Financial Law, open to students majoring in Diritto Civile, Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese, Diritto Societario e Tributario;
- an LL.M. in International Commercial Law, open to students majoring in Diritto Civile, Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese, Diritto Internazionale, Diritto Societario e Tributario, EU Law and Regulation;
- an LL.M. in International Competition Law & Policy, open to students majoring in Diritto Amministrativo, Diritto Civile, Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese, Diritto Internazionale, Diritto Societario e Tributario, EU Law and Regulation;
- an LL.M. in International Law, open to students majoring in Diritto Internazionale;
- an LL.M. in Intellectual Property & the Digital Economy, open to students majoring in Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese;
- an LL.M. in International Economic Law, open to students majoring in Diritto ed Economia delle Imprese and in Diritto Internazionale;
- an LL.M. in International Law & Security, open to students majoring in Diritto Internazionale.

Every year a total of 5 students can take part in the program.
How to apply
The call for applications is published on December 9, 2019 and applications can be submitted until January 31, 2020. Candidates are required to submit the following:
- Application form
- English language certificate
- ID card
- Motivation letter
- Photo in JPG Format
- Curriculum vitae / résumé
Requirements
Candidates for this program should have the following requirements:
- Weighted average grade equal to or above 27/30;
- Credits: at least 180 ECTS by the application deadline and 218 ECTS before departure for Glasgow.
As for English language, candidates should have one of the following certificates:
- TOEFL: minimum score 92 (iBT) with a minimum of 24 in writing and 23 in all other sections;
- IELTS Academic Module: minimum score 6.5 with no sub-test less than 6.5;
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English: min. 176 overall, with no sub-test less than 176;
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English: min. 176 overall, with no sub-test less than 176;
- Pearson Academic (PTE): min. 64 overall, with no sub-test less than 62.
Selection procedure
Luiss University will select a short list of candidates based on a non-disputable evaluation of the academic profile and the motivation of the student.
Results will be communicated to University of Glasgow which reserves the right to make the final choice.
Additional rules
- The participation to this program will provide additional points to the Final Grade of the Master’s Degree, according to Luiss rules.
- Students will be able to participate only if they are in regular time frame and have no pending administrative issues with Luiss.
- Exams passed at the University of Glasgow will be transferred to the Luiss career according to the study plan. Students may not renounce grades.
