Highlights
The Double Degree program in Financial Economics with HSE offers a high-caliber theoretical and practical education in financial economics, through a curriculum made of core courses in Micro and Macroeconomics, Financial Econometrics, Asset Pricing and Corporate Finance, along with applied courses in several fields of Economics and Finance. Taught at the prestigious International College of Economics and Finance (ICEF, first-ranked in Russia in the field of Economics and Econometrics) in collaboration with the London School of Economics and Political Science, the program will offer students the chance to study in the heart of Moscow, one of the biggest European cities, and to get a close connection with the Italian corporate and financial community in the city.
The program is structured as follows:
- the first year is carried out at Luiss;
- the second year is carried out at HSE.
After completing the program, students receive two diplomas:
- Master’s degree in Economics and Finance issued by Luiss University;
- Master’s degree in Economics issued by Higher School of Economics (HSE).
Luiss students will be registered at Luiss during their time at HSE and will continue to pay tuition fees at Luiss. Students will be exempted from paying tuition fees at HSE.
If compliant with both universities’ rules and conditions, as for credits envisaged, attendance, deadlines, academic integrity, etc., participating students will receive two degrees, which will be issued according to each university’s procedures.
Admission
Who can apply
Students enrolled in the first year of the Luiss Master’s program in Economics and Finance, major in Finance, can apply to this program.
Students who are selected for a Double Degree program have to respect the relevant study plan. They need to accept all the changes listed in the study plan, especially with reference to the languages and other activities.

Every year 5 students can take part in the program.
Requirements
Candidates for this program should have the following requirements:
- Weighted average grade equal to or above 26/30;
- having passed at least 2 exams, among core courses, within the official extraordinary Winter exam session of the a. y. 2019-20;
- having passed exams in Mathematical methods for economics and finance, Probability and Econometric Theory within July 2020.
As for English, students must possess at least a B2 level (European Framework of Reference), to be proved by one of the following certifications:
- TOEFL iBT certificate, equal or above 75;
- IELTS certificate equal or above 6.5;
- Cambridge: FCE min. grade C;
- Accademia linguistica Trinity School di Roma;
- Luiss University Language Center;
- International Secondary School Diploma;
- Bachelor’s Degree totally taught in English (obtained or ongoing).
