Highlights
Built on the Economics major of the Luiss Master’s degree program in Economics and Finance and HSE’s MA Program in Applied Economics and Mathematical Methods, the program provides advanced, strongly quantitative training in the core areas of macro, microeconomics and econometrics.
Students will spend their first year at Luiss, acquiring essential tools such as mathematical methods and statistics and econometric theory. During both years, they will have the opportunity to work alongside leading researchers, to develop the required skills to become professional economists and analysts or to conduct further academic research in the field as Ph.D. students.
The researchers from HSE’s Center for Market Studies and Spatial Economics, as well as St. Petersburg Institute for Economics and Mathematics, Russian Academy of Sciences, are directly involved in the learning process during the second year, spent in St. Petersburg.
Structure
The program is structured as follows:
- the first year is carried out at Luiss (Rome)
- the second year is carried out at HSE (St. Petersburg)
Admission
Who can apply
Students enrolled in the first year of the Luiss Master’s program in Economics and Finance, major in Economics, can apply to this program.
Available slots
Every year, 5 students can take part in the program.
Details regarding the application procedure, the selection process, deadlines, and further information, will be contained in the call for applications, which is usually published in mid-December.
Requirements
Candidates for this program should have the following requirements:
- Weighted average grade equal to or above 26/30;
- having passed at least 2 exams, among core courses, within the official extraordinary Winter exam session of the a. y. 2019-20.
- having passed the exam on Econometric theory within July 2020.
As for English, students must possess at least a C1 level (European Framework of Reference), to be proved by one of the following certifications:
- TOEFL iBT equal or above 91;
- IELTS certificate equal or above 7;
- Cambridge: FCE grade A, or CAE grade B or C;
- Accademia linguistica Trinity School di Roma;
- Luiss University Language Center;
- International Secondary School Diploma;
- Bachelor’s Degree totally taught in English (obtained or ongoing).
