The socio-political system EUROPE has secured a life in peace, prosperity, and diversity for more than 65 years yet. It has outlived numerous crises and challenges, other difficult problems still need to be solved. As the crisis around the negotiations of Britain leaving the European Union illustrates: people who are actively committed to the values of Europe are strongly needed to maintain and develop a safe Europe in a globalized world, worth living in.
We are looking for young persons from Europe within the age of 18 and 26, i.e. in the year 2017 the prize winner should not be older than 26. The person should have contributed towards the understanding between persons and/or the European integration. We expect the person to engage them self in exceptional voluntary work for the sake of Europe. The candidates need to show that they have taken initiatives, have a sense of responsibility, and thus prove that they are prepared to grasp the opportunities of our time in forging peaceful coexistence in a Europe of diversity. Annually the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe intends to reward a young European for their outstanding commitment to foster international understanding and a united Europe with this prize. Additionally, we want to encourage and motivate these young people to continue to live by these ideals.
The sum of the prize values € 5.000. This amount is intended to finance a six-month internship with a Member of the European Parliament or another European institution. It is also possible to use the sum to finance a project which pro¬motes European integration. Such a project has to follow the aims of the Schwarzkopf Foundation and needs the approval of the Foundation's board in order to be accepted.
If you know a young person who fulfills the requirements, please fill out the enclosed nomination form and send it together with a CV of the candidate and a description of the reasons for the nomination to:
