Bruegel welcomes applications from all areas of economic research for 3 positions as Research Assistant in Macroeconomics and 3 in Microeconomics starting in September/October 2016.
Research Assistants work closely with Bruegel Fellows to conduct research in the forms of Policy Papers, Blueprints, Blogs and external publications and to participate in Bruegel's events.
We offer a non-renewable, fixed-term contract of one year. All applicants must hold a Master's degree or equivalent in Economics or Financial Economics (or related fields with a major in one of these areas).
Besides a Master's degree, or equivalent, in Economics, candidates must possess experience in empirical work and have an interest in applied, policy-orientated research in Bruegel's areas of specialization. Technical strengths in quantitative economic methods and econometric software, as well as a good grasp of economic concepts and fluency in written and spoken English are essential. Versatility, international experience, command of further languages and the ability to work as a team-player are desired.
Specific areas of interest:
Microeconomics: innovation, competition and energy policy
Macroeconomics: global economics and governance, finance and financial regulation
