The Directorate General Communications (DG/C) of the European Central Bank (ECB) is seeking applications for a traineeship in the Multimedia Division for a period of six months.
Description
The Multimedia Division is one of four divisions that make up DG/C.
The successful trainee will be part of the Multimedia Division and will work under the supervision of the team leaders and the Deputy Head of Division in close cooperation with other business areas. His/her main task will be to assist the teams with various projects to be completed in 2016, such as the conversion of publications from PDF/E-pub to full HTML format and SVG graphs and the new information architecture for the ECB website, as well as carry out other tasks as required by the MLT division.
Traineeship of six months, with the possibility of extension to up to 12 months in the same business area.
The selection committee may place suitable candidates on a reserve list, from which candidates may be appointed to similar positions in the same or another business area. It may also be decided to fill the position(s) advertised in this vacancy notice with a suitable candidate or candidates from the reserve list resulting from a recruitment procedure for a similar position. Candidates will be informed accordingly if this happens.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- at least a bachelor’s degree, and ideally a master’s degree, in a relevant field, such as computer sciences, communication, design or marketing management
- ideally, knowledge of HTML and CSS
- ideally, experience in web editing and writing for the web (i.e. information architecture, how to structure content on web pages and across sections and how to target content to specific audiences)
- ideally, knowledge of graphic design and editing
- ideally, knowledge of photo and video management
- an advanced command of English
- a good knowledge of at least one other official language of the EU
- a working knowledge of MS Office, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
