El Hassan Fellowship Programme

In 2015, the West-Asia North-Africa Forum (WANA) will launch the El Hassan Fellowship Programme. The programme invites outstanding graduates from distinguished Masters programmes to assist the work of the Royal Palaces for a period of 12 months in Amman, Jordan. This is a paid opportunity.

Fellows will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of WANA, and under the ultimate guidance and mentorship of His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince El Hassan Bin Talal.

The highly competitive selection process will seek out exceptional graduates from key thematic areas including international politics and development, inter-faith studies, environment, law, politics, conflict and refugee studies, who will develop a substantive research paper of publishable quality.

The Fellowship Programme offers graduates the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in a unique working environment in preparation for careers in Middle Eastern affairs, research, politics and international development. It is also provides an opportunity for these young scholars to participate in original research on emerging ideas, liaise with distinguished academics and field experts, and develop networks with policy and government leaders in their chosen field.

Candidates selected to participate in the programme will receive: return economy airfares from their home country to Jordan, accommodation, health insurance, Arabic language tuition and a monthly stipend.

Attached to this email you will find further information about the El Hassan Fellowship Program, including application deadlines, requirement and background details on WANA and HRH Prince El Hassan bin Talal. There is also an application form that students can complete and return to us directly. The first intake of fellows will commence in January 2015 and, as such, we are looking to receive applications by 1 October 2014.
